Breast Reduction 

 

What is a breast reduction?

 

Breast reduction, also known as a mammaplasty or mammoplasty, aims to reduce the breast size, to correct the ptosis (sagging) and fix any assymetry to obtain more proportional  breasts. The goal is to get both breasts symmetrical with volumes adapted to the morphology of the patient.

Who is a candidate?

 

Women who present a bulky chest causing embarrassment or physical repercussions such as back pain, neck pain and shoulder pain.

Procedure

  

Dr. Zadeh performs the removal of excess glandular tissue. The residual glandular volume is then raised, concentrated and remodeled. The excess skin is excised to ensure a good contour (curve) to the new breasts. It is often recommended that liposuction of the axilla de done at the same time to obtain a more sculpted and esthetic appearance.

Anesthesia

 

Dr. Teanoosh Zadeh executes his breast reduction surgeries under general anesthesia to ensure patient safety.

  • Poor healing of scars
  • Altered sensitivity to nipples
  • Difficulty breast feeding

Post Operative & Healing 

There is little pain after the procedure. Swelling and bruising is common and will disappear within two weeks. Any pain can be controlled with painkillers prescribed by Dr. Zadeh. A dressing is applied following surgery and replaced between three to five days by a compression bra to be worn for one month. Follow up visits are done with Dr. Zadeh at his clinic and visible end results can be seen after six months. IPL treatments can be recommended to help the overall esthetic appearance of the scars.
