Rhinoplasty
What is Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty, also known as nose surgery is a procedure used to reshape the nose. Rhinoplasty can reduce or increase the size of your nose, change the tip, the bridge, the nostrils or change the angle between the nose and the upper lip. |
|
Who is a candidate?
Rhinoplasty can be performed on candidates looking to meet aesthetic goals or for reconstruction purposes to correct birth defects or difficulty in breathing. |

Procedure
Surgery of the nose usually takes between one to two hours, depending on the complexity of the procedure. The skin of the nose is seperated from its support frame (bone and cartilage) and then sculpted to the desired shape. The nature of the sculpting and the technique used will depend on individual needs and will be discussed during your consultation with Dr. Zadeh. When the operation is complete, a splint will be applied to support the new shape of the nose. |
|
Anesthesia
Depending on the technique chosen by Dr. Zadeh, rhinoplasty can be done under local or general anesthesia. |

Post Operative & Healing
Bruising and swelling may persist for several days. Any pain or discomfort can be controlled by painkillers prescribed by Dr. Zadeh. In case of a deviated septum, splints may be left in each nostril for a period of four to five days. Dr. Zadeh will give specific guidelines to meet the needs of each individual. It may take up to eighteen months to appreciate fully the results of surgery. |
